Welcome to J&J!

J&J Beef Genetics, LLC.,  is purebred beef cattle operation consisting of Angus, Hereford and Charolais cattle in Orlando, OK.  J&J is family owned and operated by Dr. Mark Johnson, his wife, Brenda, and daughters, Sydney and Charley.  The operation is ideally located in the heart of Oklahoma cattle country.  J&J sits just one mile off Interstate 35, is a 15 minute drive from the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and only 50 minutes from Will Rogers International Airport in Oklahoma City.  The operation attracts customers and visitors from a state, national and international audience.  Each year, J&J is host to major cattle sales, as well as educational field days and livestock judging workshops.  4-H and FFA youth, as well as cattlemen of all ages visit J&J each year to tour the facilities, view cattle, and attend sales and educational events. 

The primary purpose of  the operation is the sale of purebred seedstock and the clientele consist of youth exhibitors purchasing halter prospects, other purebred seedstock breeders, and commercial cattlemen purchasing range bulls.  The objective of the breeding program is to produce cattle with phenotypically superior “on foot” type coupled with the genetic potential for excellence in reproduction, growth and end product merit.  Selection objectives also include capitalizing on the genetic strengths of the respective purebred lines and offering cattle to the public that will be profitable to own and problem free to have in production.

 As evidence of the success, scope and magnitude of the J&J program, in recent years the operation has:
  • Exhibited the Reserve Champion Charolais heifer at the 2022 Cattlemen's Congress
  • Exhibited two division Champion Angus heifers at the 2022 Cattlemen's Congress
  • Exhibited the Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Angus heifer at the 2021 NJAS
  • Exhibited two Division Champion Angus heifers including the 3rd Overall in the Owned heifer show at  2021 NJAS
  • Exhibited the two Division Champion Charolais heifers including the 3rd Overall in both the Owned and Bred & Owned Shows at the 2020 AIJCA
  • Exhibited the Reserve Champion Charolais bull at the 2019 National Western Stock Show   
  • exhibited Champion Bull, Champion Bred and Owned Heifer and Champion Owned Heifer at 2018 AIJCA Junior National.
  • exhibited the Reserve Champion Pen of 3 Charolais Bulls at 2018 NWSS
  • exhibited Supreme Bred & Owned Heifer at the 2018 OYE
  • exhibited the Reserve Champion Bull at the 2017 AIJCA
  • exhibited the 5th Overall Bred & Owned Heifer at the 2017 NJAS
  • exhibited the 2016 Reserve Champion and Third Best Overall Bred and Owned Females at the 2016 AIJCA Jr. National
  • exhibited the Champion Bred and Owned and Reserve Champion Overall Steer at the 2016 National Junior Angus Show. 
  • exhibited the 2014 National Champion Charolais heifer
  • Exhibited a division winning Angus bull and class winning Angus heifer at the 2014 National Junior Angus Show
  • exhibited the 12 time breed Champion and point leading Hereford heifer, the 20 time breed champion and point leading Charolais heifer and the Top two Bred & Owned Angus heifers on the Oklahoma Club Calf Association Junior Show Circuit in 2014
  • exhibited the Supreme or Reserve Supreme Champion Heifer in 18 times in 2014 Oklahoma Club Calf Association Junior shows.
  • exhibited the Supreme Champion Heifer at the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen's Association Preview Show and the Tulsa State Fair in 2014
